  • Yamaha 703 remote

    I made a post last week about using the wiring harness my dealer gave me to hook up to my Yamaha 50TLR. I'm installing the throttle remote now and there is a harness coming from it that would seem to eliminate the need for the other harness my dealer gave me.

    Coming from the remote:
    -a 10 pin plug that looks like it will connect to the plug at the motor

    -3 plug connectors 1)two reds wired into one plug 2)two purples wired into one plug 3)two greens wired into one plug

    -a cord containing 4 wires--one each of red, black, yellow, and green

    To be clear, I have 1 10 pin plug, and 7 individual plug connectors

    Where do these wires go?

    On my 92 Yamaha 60HP / 703 Remote, the 10-pin goes to the engine.
    The individual leads goes as follows:

    Green/green-red: Oil level

    Red = constant +12V
    Yellow = +12V switched by the ignition
    Black = Gnd
    Green = tach signal
    The 3 above matches with same colors on tach

    the 2 remaining goes to trim/tilt gauge

      Yes the 10 pin connects to engine.
      The green, yellow, red and black connects to gauges.
      The double wires should be red, blue and green, they are for connecting to an extra trim switch in boat.
