  • 2003 115HP Tach question

    Hello,
I am trying to help with a wiring question about a 2003 Yamaha outboard motor.
What I am trying to find is the color code for the tach wiring.
The color of the wires are Red, Yellow, Green, Black.

There are three terminal on the tach, Send, Ground, Ignition.
Is the Red Ignition for the Tach or Is the Yellow? Is the Green the sensor lead? Black I think is the Ground, which is standard for 12 Volt wiring.

Is there a color code for complete Yamaha wiring?

    Thanks for any help!

The red wire is 12 volts battery power, not needed on tach. Yellow is 12 volts key on power, connect to ignition terminal on tach. Black wire is ground and green wire is tach signal lead, connect to sender terminal on tach.
