Fuel Restriction

I have a Grady white w/ twin 250TXRV. New powerhead stbd engine. After powerhead install, checking fuel system. found both motors drawing 3.5 inches of fuel vacuum, throughout the rpm range. (5000 WOT) I was always told no more than 2 inches. Is 3.5 too much?

Yamaha calls for 6 inch maximum on V6 engine but we try to get to 4 or less at wide open throttle.
