  • Yamaha F115 EFI Winter Storage procedure

Since this is my first four-stroke outboard, and it's an EFI, I have som questions about winter storage. Of course I change all oils and oilfilter, and add fuel stabilizer in the tank, but I'm not sure about using fogging oil. Maybe I should just spray some oil directly into the cylinders? I don't think the injectors would like fogging oil...

Otherwise I don't think there are any differences between procedures. Am I correct?

Sorry for asking, but my handbook is quite "foggy" about this matter

    Cheers
    /John

Since you can't remove the air silencer easly you can spray the fogging oil into the intake on silencer cover in order to get oil on the valves, but you wont be able to stall the engine like you would with a 2 stroke. Then remove spark plugs and spray into cylinders and be sure store in trim down position in order for all the water in engine block to drain out.
