  • F60 Water Pump problem

Now that the engine will start and idle, I can see that the pee stream is very weak, almost nonexistent.

I ran down to the Yamaha dealer, got a new water pump kit, Installed it, and it is almost the same, maybe a little more, but not much. At idle, it is not even enough to pee, it just trickles down the side of the motor.

I am thinking maybe the thermostat needs to open, so I ran it as long as I dared to, maybe 5-10 minutes. The exhaust does not seem too hot, and I can easily hold my hand on the head and block, but I don't want to risk overheating.

I have always seen a good strong stream on every other engine I had, so what is up with this one.

    Any ideas.

    Ah Ha!

Got it. The rubber tube from the left side of the block to the "T" fitting by the pee hole was plugged.

2-3" of the tube was packed solid with what looked line plain old garden style dirt. This was located about 2 inches or so away from the "T" itself.

    Wierd.

Anyway, it pisses like a racehorse now.
