  • can i put the powerhead back on

i pulled my powerhead thinking that my shift rod was bad. turns out its my lower unit that needs rebuilt. so is there any reason to not put the PH back on? is there anything else to replace besides the gasket while its off?

just the base gasket and use a good marine grade never seize on the mount bolts.

      hello jb123
what do you call "good marine grade "never seize ?
i hearded never seize does not work well with salt water, it makes like "weld"
      is it true?
i know only one kind of "never seize", the automotive one.
where do you find the "marine grade" never seize?

PERSONALLY i DO use it as i prefer to not have to burn holes in the sides of my midsection to have to remove head bolts...and to not have to wrestle lower unit bolts out. i use the product and use it heavy so NO salt build up occurs. i dont see it many places but some of the larger bolt co's carry it and it has gotten much more expensive lately.
