  • 2003 50 HP 4-stroke Tilt and Trim Problem

I just purchased my 2003 boat/motor a couple months ago. The t&t worked well when I purchased the boat. I trailered it 400 miles. Then the t&t started working sporadically. Now, it does not work at all. The relay clicks but no motor function.

I have cleaned all terminals, and have purchased a new battery. No change.

Any obvious thing I am missing?

I did notice a four prong wiring connector laying right in front of the motor that was disconnecetd, but it has been disconnected since I bought the boat.

Remove the blue and green trim motor wires from trim relay(they have to be disconnected from relay or it will damage relay). Connect one of the wire(green or blue) to 12 volt positive from battery and the other trim motor wire 12 volt negitive, trim motor should run. If trim motor doesn't run the motor is bad.
The 4 prong connetor is for gauges, if no Yamaha gauges are used then nothing will be connected to it.
