  • 115 4-Stroke Oil Alarm

I have a 2001 115 4-stroke and the oil alarm will sound from time to time. It seems to do it most when the motor is cold and started for the first time in the morning. It will sound for a few minutes and then it stops on it's own or it will go off if I turn off the motor and then restart it. Some trips it never does it, others it does it several times. It only seems to be an issue at idle or near idle and has never sounded while on plane. The idiot light for oil on the gauge blinks whenever the alarm is sounding. Oil pressure is reading perfect(per a Yamaha mechanic). The oil sensor, alarm horn and oil/oil filter was just changed with no help. Any ideas? Thanks.

P.S. Unknown amount of hours on the motor but it gets run quite a bit, about 3 days a week.

Did the mechanic take a oil pressure when engine cold like as if in the same situation that you getting the alarm?

As far as I know it was the first thing checked when the boat was brought in. So the motor was cold.
