  • tilt/trim won't lower past 45

I have a 98 yamaha 115 that will raise throughout the range but will only lower to around 45 degrees then stop.

If I unscrew the emergency release on the left side it drops all the way and I can raise to full, if above 45 degress it will raise or lower. Could this be caused by a bad relay? a bad limit switch?

Have combed the previous posts and haven't found a similar problem. Thanks in advance.

If you can hear the elect motor running then it's not a electrical problem it's a hydraulic problem.

      really think it's electrical

the motor does not run lower than that. you can feel and hear the lowering seleniod cut out at the point it stops, trying to figure out what's triggering the stop.
