250 Yamaha stalls when put into neutral

I have twin 1998 250 hp EFI Yamahas. Both are running smooth hitting 5100 rpms and idleing at 700. When I shift forward they drop to 600 and idle steady. So here's the problem...when I shift the port motor to neutral from 600 rpms, it stalls immediately. This happens when I dock about 70% of the time. I've even seen the rpms jump from 600 to 1000 when shifting to neutral and then stalling. Am I experiencing some sort of electrical problem somewhere in the system?

POSSibly the neutral stop in the 704,bypass the brown wires and see...if so youll have to open the 704 and either tighten it up or replace.
