  • Low RPMs at full throttle

Having problems with 1992 C115 yammihaw, and would appreciate any advice y’all can give me.

Wouldn’t get over 4000 RPMs Saturday so I changed plugs, filter/separator, fuel connection and added seafoam to the fuel. I filled the water separator half way with seafoam and ran the engine for about 20 minutes.

Now the thing will get up to 4300 RPMs. What do y’all think is going on? I am thankful for any help you can give.

I have a 2006 F90 which gave me a similar problem. It turned out to be a partially plugged in-line fuel filter. The filter was between the fuel pump and the VST. I realize you probably have a 2-stroke whereas I am talking about a 4-stroke, but you still might have a similar in-line fuel filter. I back-flushed through it and the problem was quickly resolved. Hope this helps - Woodnaut
