  • 50 HP TLR Difficult Starting Maybe solved

A new engine had to be started 2-3 times to keep running. Fuel Tank anti-siphon valve was removed. New fuel hoses and Yamaha 10 micron filter installed. New spark plugs. Compression checked 115 PSI on all three cylinders. Idle adjusted to 750-850.Verified throttle plates closed when starting. Prime start seemed to work OK, but when idled down engine wanted to die.

Seems like everything went OK when idle RPM was increased slightly(950). And now engine even idles better when warm.

Using Yamahalube 2M-TCW3 oil, the sparkplugs seem to be cleaner than other 2 cycle oil I have used in other(Penzoil TCW3) engines in the past.Seems like it is synethic, but Yamaha says they don't recommend synethic oil ???
    -Just my 2 cents !!!
