Touch up Paint

I have had a Yamaha 8hp for a number of years,and it still runs perfectly. However, some paint has flaked off the lower unit. I want to clean, prime, and repaint to match.

Local Yamaha service center says to go to West Marine and check out Tempo line of paints.

Does Yamaha have spray cans of primer and paint? Is color different for different model years? If so, now do I determine the original year of my 8hp? Is this part of the serial number, or somehow identifable from the aluminum plate that bears the numbers?

We need the complete model number to determine the year. Tempo does make paint that match's close. 1984 to 1993 motors used Metallic Marine Silver. 1994 and later used Dark Bluish Gray Metallic.

Can you determine the model year from these?

go with aftermarket same paint just a lot cheaper price tempo marine spray paint 7.95 a can primer 9.95 clear coat 7.95 a can..7985 to present.

where do you find the model number and where do you fine the color code for the cowling. I have F200XB bought in Florida 8/14/2018 (new then).
