  • Restrictor plate question

I have a 2006 50ph 4-stroke that is de-tunable to 35hp with the swap out of the restrictor plate within the air in-take. In case you're wondering; this is an alaskan thing in order to be able to use the outboard on 35hp restricted waters, and still have the 50hp available. My question: If the restrictor plate is completly removed, will this damage the motor and/or would it increase the hp?

Not familiar with the restrictor plate trick but if they didn't change the timing or carbs then you should be able to just remove the the plate.
