  • When to Squeeze or not to Squeeze(the Bulb)

Starting problem on 50TLA -2006(2 stroke).

After initial cold engine start engine wants to die during first 2-3 start attempts.

Book says squeeze the bulb, till hard. Sometimes on initial start this works, other times it will stumble with allot of smoke(still on break in Oil Mix)

How do you increase start idle RPM or Time(on fast idle)

    Recommendations please...

What kind of remote con*****er do you have? I assume you have remote with cables. If so, you will have lever off to the right of the shifter, which will raise the throttle in neutral. Lift this lever about 1/3 to start and try. I if you start it and revs really fast bring it back a bit until it warms.

    Thx

Nope no lever----I've learned it has a Prime Start.......feature.

My old Johnson had a lever and choke plates worked great !!

yes your right, on prime start engines, yamaha requires two things to start, prime the bulb till hard and turn the key. Never lift up trottle lever when starting. Also your engine will idle a little rough until you get the break in mixture ran through.
