  • Marginal waterpump output

I replaced the water pump, and initially have good flow out the discharge hole, but the flow slows down after a couple minutes. The water intake holes are not blocked, the thermostat is in good shape and kicks open at about 125 degrees. The cylinder head plate seems pretty warm to me. Any ideas? Is there any way to verify that all the water passages are clear?

tsh, i had a similar problem once. try pulling the pee hose off of the plastic fitting inside of your cowling. i had a piece of casting clay that shook loose and partially blocked mine. also, while the hose is off, run the motor a minute and check for flow straight out of the discharge hose, and to be sure look through that fitting on your cowling, something may be stuck in there. good luck.
