  • F50 trim meter not installed correct?

Hi, looked through the discussions on trim wiring and didnt see my issue. After dealer installation of a new F50 (2005), all is well but the trim gauge (which is stuck up past the last marking). Harness is connected, I did connect the blue and black light wires which were not connected. I contacted them (they are far away and have shakey service) and they sent me a new trim meter and a very bad copy of a wiring diagram. Well the new gauge is the same PN (6Y7 83670 10) but the 4 pin connector is keyed differently! OK, so maybe its simpler than a new gauge like the yellow, brown and black wires that could be connected to the wrong wires. Thanks, Steve

It would be better for you to take it back to dealer. The wire colors wont be the same on each side of 4 pin connector. There are 2 different trim/oil harness they may have used( single 4 pin on each end or 2 pin's on each end) and it makes a difference if you have other gauges or just a trim gauge.
