  • Tach Wiring and colors

Thanks for all the help I have gotten so far, but I have one more question. Coming off the tach I have a yellow, green and black wire. Now the wire colors from under the console, matches the wire colors on the tach. Still there is a male end on the black wire off tach (not the light) and a black wire with a male connector under the console (where all the other wires match up), so they dont just plug in when the others do.

So my question is, do the 2 black wires get connected, thus having to put a female connector on one of the ends, or does it go into another wire?

    Thanks:

That sounds about right. But just to be sure take a digital multimeter and check for continuity between that harness black wire and a known ground under the console, like the grounding block if you have one. But yes, that black wire from the tach needs to be connected to a good ground.
