  • Tach /Gage Questions

I have a 2003 70TLRB motor with the Yamaha 703 control and Yamaha gages. When turning the key to on the one gage shows the voltage and time as it should. After starting the hour meter never moves (it is stuck at 72H) and the tach is always at 0. The oil sensor also does not seem to register any changes (always full). I have traced as many wires and all appear to be good and plugged in. Any suggestions on what to check.

The tach and hour meter gets its signal from green wire(alternator), check the grenn wire connection at gauge and at control box. Check for AC voltage at green wire, as rpm increase voltage should increase.

Checked the green wire with my meter to the negative terminal on the battery. After starting and idling, I read .12 volts. Reving it a bit with the fast idle lever gets me up to .16 volts so it appears the wire is good. Any recommendation on next steps?
