  • ProV200 Head Gasket

Howdy All, WoW, what a great forum. I lost power on my engine so did a compression test and found only 30 lbs pressure in #5 cylinder. Took the head off and found a blown head gasket. Cylinder and piston look good except for a little rusty dust from sitting for a few days. What would be the cause of the blown gasket? and should I be OK to put a new gasket on and run it? Should I replace the other head gasket also? Any and all info would be appreciated. Thanks, Wally

PS: Can I order the head gaskets from this site?
    Thanks, Wally

you CAN order from here and tax free i think from cal. you might wanna lube cylinder/rings with xtra 2 stroke oil.
not necessary to change out the other but does give piece of mind.
    what year ??

It's a 94 and has over a 1000 hrs on it and has never been to the shop. It's been a great motor. I think i will change both of them. Do they come in a set of 2?
      Thanks, Wally

        singles.
i have an '89 pro that still runs like a bear.
i'd suggest, if they havent been done in a few yrs:
        water pump/shaft seal
        lower unit fluid
        stats
        prv
        fuel pumps
