  • Electrical Trouble

    OX66 on a Cobia 204

Tried to start after sitting for a couple of months and no juice. Charged both batteries and still no luck. Replaced one battery with a brand new one and I still get nothing. Battery checks out and the battery switch appears to be good becuase electronics come on. Motor will not turn and electric trim does not work. It acts like nothing is getting to the engine. Does teh power for the trim/tilt come from the engine connection? Any ideas or things to look for?

    Thanks in advance.

HI, Yes the power for the tilt/trim comes from the same connection as the motor. I would check all the battery connections. Make sure that you did not forget to re connect one of the cables that go to the motor. Check at the back-side of the battery switch, and clean and tighten all connections if necessary. Also check under the "hood" for clean, tight connections. Let us know how you make out.

check your fuses at motor, then take a hot jumper from batt to starter, see if it turns.
then you can also check your neutral stops and kill switch.
