  • yamaha fuel problem

I have a 70hp yamaha fuel problem. Getting too much fuel and bogging down at idle. Runs good at half or full speed. Had the fuel diaphram replaced 3-4 months ago. Thinking it was the same problem, I replaced the whole fuel pump. Still not the answer. Any suggestions?

Are you sure you are getting to much fuel?? Might be a different problem. Bad fuel? Bad spark? Bad plugs? etc.

I do see a film of fuel on the water after motor stalls. My carbs were cleaned, and new plugs installed at the same time fuel diaphram was replaced 3-4 months ago. This was the second time that it was replaced in less than a year. Ran and idled good for several months but then same problem. I am using fresh fuel. Thanks for your help.

I checked the fuel diaphram leading into the top carb, it was busted. Any idea what would cause it to do so repeatedly in a relatively short amount of time? Do I have another problem causing this malfunction?
