I am just about to take delivery of the above motor, just recently rebuilt - is there any inherent issues with the 225 EFI I need to be concerned about? - thanks in advance - JLJ

no issues i ever had,I had a pair.... you or a mechanic should check:
    compression
lower unit fluid and pressure up
    clean the vapor tank filter
    oil pump output setting
    02 sensor

I would hope the compression would be fantastic considering it is going to be rebuilt! - thanks for the other info - I will be sure to mention it to my seller - JLJ

Where is the vapor tank filter and is it hard to clean?

that filter, in efi motors, is on the port side, inside the large aluminum tank/canister. the top has to be removed to access the filter inside, and good to do yearly as general maintenace. you will need to replace the top o-ring and techs will suggest to replace the hose crimps with factory crimps rather than hose clamps, to prevent leakage.not a tough job.

Is the filter located on the bottom of the electric fuel pump?

Is the filter part number 26 and is it below the fuel pump?
