  • Drive Shaft Description

I am in the process of installing a new water pump in my 150 HPDI. I noticed something that seems out of the norm. The drive shaft is tapered but in the area of the collar and spacer just above the impeller is a tapered wear spot. This wear spot is such that it is definitely noticable. Has anybody noticed a similiar situation on there driveshaft or is it supposed be this way???If this is not the norm what caused this to happen??? Barry

there are 3 washers and 2 bushings that go there to keep the drive shaft from bouncing.

If the collar wasn't properly pushed down on impeller then the washer"s under spacer may have been turning on drive shaft and wearing into driveshaft. Make sure you pull upwards on drive shaft and push down on impeller when installing collar and spacer.
