  • oil or wtr temp alarm?

1996 130tlrt.running at 5000rpm alrm went off.the alarm was on the rpm gage, the little picture of a thermometer. engine did the auto rpm drop..water flow seemed normal. is that indicator oil or water related?,,ran out of canal to run wide open again.ran normal all the way back to the ramp..rpm ranges from idle to 3000 rpm. popped engine cover side oil tank level normal. little help......thks

following up ..water flow is strong and wtr temp from discharge is cool ..wtr pump changed recently,,alrm goes off at 5000 rpm..ran at 4000-5000,,for a while with no alarms...its that 5000 speed, could it still be wtr related?

your sensor is going off for a reason... your impeller is over a year old change it along with any thermostats. if that doesnt cure it, check your water jackets for corrosion.not sure if your model has a prv, if so, change it also ,very cheap compared to an overheated block.
