  • Tachometer Wiring

    Hi

I'd like to install a Yamaha Tachometer to the console of my Zodiac Pro RIB. This is powered by my Yamaha 40HP, 3 cylinder, 2-stroke, Autolube engine. Model is 1995 manual start, manual trim, long-shaft. The tachometer was purchased second-hand.

It has an illuminated bulb (2 wires) so I assume this can be added straight to the Yamaha electrical connector (on engine), as I have navigation lighting already installed, 12V.

On the tachograph reverse - there are 4 terminals indicated by the following letters and numbers, from left to right 12 and B (which has metal bridge connection plate), 4 and G. I assume G is earth or ground as it is separate? Can anyone provide me with a wiring diagram so I can test please.

    Any advice appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hi

Forgot to mention - it's an analogue type tacho.

    Cheers
