Just a question regards to the paint you use on the inside of the motor. I have searched the forums and all seem to say green zince chromate. Been looking around for this. I'm not doing the block water jackets for it may come loose. Just the ex plates and head cover.

Only thing I've found so far is zince primer ( the spray cans for trailers and power line poles etc. Is the acceptable to use?

Also - is there a gasket for the gearbox to leg mating surface or use gasket cement or nothing at all? My book dosen't mention anything about this at all.

Yes Zinc chromate is a primer. No there is no gasket between gearcase and upper housing.
