    hello people i own a 2001 50hp 4 stroke outboard and i hit a log the other day and bent my prop then i noticed that my speedo was stuck at 35mph and wouldnt come back to 0 i took apart the line going to my speedo and the water was under presure and the speedo went back to 0 but now dont work i tried blowing through the line and it seems pluged in the lower unit what must i do to fix the problem? help please

    'fanatic,
    Use a small drill bit, like 1/32-1/16 inch, and carefully "drill" out the blockage by hand that will be in the speedo pick-up hole that is on the leading edge of the lower unit right above the "bullet" gearcase. This should clear the debris.
    I have to do this at least three times a year to clear debris - mainly from grass and water lillies floating near the surface.
