On the bottle of marval mystery oil gass additive, it says "Keeps rings free" along with other things etc...Do you think it will do the same job as ringfree?

I wouldn't take a chance with anything but RingFree or SeaFoam - both have a long track record being run in outboards - don't know about anything else.
I run SeaFoam about every third tank - 1 oz to 1 gal gas. Also use it as shock treatment to de-carb once a year.
