  • 4 stroke winterization

What is the correct winterization procedure for my 2005 225hp 4 strokes? My dealer says he has to make up a mixture of some sort and run it through the engines and then needs to flush with antifreeze. Can anyone help or point me to a Yamaha Tech Bulletin covering 4 stroke storage?

That is covered in your owners manual, Yamaha does have the owners manual on their web page http://www.yamaha-motor.com

The owners manual is part of the problem ....it says to fog the engine ...and my dealer says you cant fog a 4 stroke you need to mix up a solution of 2 cycle oil, gas, and stabilizer in a 3 gal. tank and adapt it to the fuel line under the cowling and run the mixture through the engines. A few years ago I got hold of a Yamaha Tech Bulletin for 2000 model HPDI and EFI engines titled Storage Procedures. I'm looking for the same type Yamaha Tech Bulletin for Storage Procedures for 2005 4 Strokes
