Oil Linkage

I recently adjusted the oil linkage rod on my
'92 115 hp to the pump stroke minimun. I am still getting what I feel like is excessive smoke. Plugs are not fouling. Should I be concerned?

at neutral, the pump-side linkage should stop on the set pin on pump.

are you getting oil leaking out of the breather box when tilted up to max position? if so, change out the check valves in the oil lines.
