Help with Muti function Gauge OIL warning!

Hello All,

Need some info on a 1989 90HP Gauge, Oil pointer is stuck on yellow... and sensor replaced, Tank was cleaned and filled, 2 wire harness also repalced. I also unplugged the oil harness from the gauge and nothing... no change. Also it looks like the temp sensor is also wired to the oil sensor at the engine.

Would any one know if the default state for this gauge is yellow on the oil indicator, when unplugged? Could the gauge be bad even if it passes its self test when powered on? Any ideas Please?

The gauge will go to yellow if harness is disconnected. It sounds like gauge is working properly.

Thx Boats.net, Do you mean oil harness (2 wire plug) or everything? Very Odd because the oil sensor is new, and the wire to the gauge is new as well. I do think the gauge is working. Any thing else I can check?
