704 remote trim switch

Hi my trim switch will not power down on the control but is ok on the motor. I assume the switch is corroded. Can I clean it or do I replace it? How hard?

Bluebird,
Try squirting some WD-40 into the switch.
If that doesn't work, then follow the wires from the bottom of the control to the wiring harness from the motor. Check the bullet connections for corrosion.
If that doesn't work, then disassemble the handle and look for corroded contact on bottom of switch.
Last resort - replace the switch.

Thanks Ken, I'll give that a shot.

Wow, That was ez, remove two screws, pull switch away from handle, pull away rubber boot, pop cover off of switch, turn upside down, contacts drop out, polish points with point file, reverse dissassembly to reinstall. works like new.
