T8 Starting Problem

Have this motor in a 2004 model, tiller, power tilt w/ electric start. Noticed the last couple of times I've used it there is an intermittant problem with it not starting when in neutral. I'm talking the starter is not engaging. Move the shift lever back and forth a few times and it starts. I noticed on the parts break down it shows a different neutral start switch part number than the previous one. Were there problems with this switch and Yamaha changed the design? Thanks for all responses.

It sounds like the neutral switch is where the problem is. I'm not aware of any netral switch problems with the T8.
