    1994 Yamaha Pro V 200 Horse Power

Engine missing at higher RPMs (not low oil saftey/rev. limiter)

Volt Meter at 10 volts tested Original rectifyer according to shop manual and it failed test. Replaced with new rectifyer ran boat, problem not solved, new rectifyer failed continuity test after running boat and testing per shop manual.

Question 1: What would fry rectifyer.

Question 2: What is the correct method to test a rectifyer.

The rectifier shouldn't cause the engine to misfire, it is not part of the ignition circuit. The rectifier is made up with a set of diodes, you test checking for continuity then reverse the tester leads and check for continuity again on the same rectifier leads, you should have continuity one way only.
