Steering Bracket for T9.9ELHX

I have a 1999 Yamaha 9.9 kicker with a broken steering bracket. The part is on the way and will be here Monday, but I can't seem to sort out how to actually pull the old part off. I've gotten the rest of the bracket off of it, so it's just the steering bracket itself.

The part number I'm referring to is 6G8-42511-02-4D if that helps.

I beleave you will have to remove the powerhead and top motor mounts to exchange the steering bracket.
