  • will not start hot

I have a 25 hp 2009 yamaha outboard that starts fine with the key. When I run it Ann cut it off, then it will not do anything with the key. I can pull the rope one time and it cranks and runs fine. Once cold it cranks by the key.

I did not see a question being asked. Am I overlooking something?

With regard to the statement I am a bit perplexed. Title says will not start. Body seems to imply that it will not crank when the key is turned to the start position.

        What am I missing?

I just want a clarification of what he said
just saying nothing happens does not say much.
plus the need for model #

Sounds like a weak battery or poor battery cable connection....check those carefully....remove each cable, inspect, clean with wire brush, a dab of grease and tighten back....

Guess we won't get a model # ... I see at least 3 dozen engines, two strokes, four strokes, ALL 25HP...

Please either answer some basic questions or expect no useful answers.

"Turning THE KEY" to CRANK/SPIN it over I'll GUESS?? Or just to the run position?
