Yep thats the critter.
I thought that maybe since I had the motor at a 45 degree angle that it may be laying down and causing the misalignment, but I then put the motor in the straight up position and it hung straight down. No luck yet but it will happen. I wish I could get to it with a chopstick but with the spacer you cannot.
