My 1999 C90 Yamaha will crank 5500 RPM's at WOT with ease....the book says the gear ratio is 13:26 (2.0)....so how many RPM's is my prop turning at an engine speed of 5500?.....

Engine/Prop RPM Question

the convention is that the ratio is stated as engine/prop
so 2:1 - the engine turns twice for every propeller revolution
5500 engine rpms the prop is turning 2750
which begs another question:
do driveshaft seals typically wear out sooner than propshaft seals?
and if so - is the reason the difference in shaft rpm?
