  • 8hp 2 stroke identity

Hi all - I'm new here and would love some help.

I have a new-to-me 8hp 2 stroke that the identity decal has come off. I have a number from the carb, 6G100CB27, which I think from my research makes it 1990-1996. Does anyone know the likely model number?

Whilst I am on here, I can't find a replacement gasket for between the carb and the engine. Can I use "instant gasket" type of stuff.

Thank you all very much for looking.

Can you find the alternate ID label on the block? Usually in the vicinity of the starter motor if there is a starter motor. It is round with a black bar across the middle.

The gasket is between the carburetor and the intake manifold.

Can be had from this website or from your local UK dealer. Here is a snippet from the parts catalog from the UK Yamaha website:

Thanks very much for your quick reply. I can't find this alternate number but you have given me exactly what I need -and I am very grateful. Just hoping the tiny grain of something I found in the idle jet is why it wasn't idling now...
