  • Carburetor gasket question

Fixing to clean carbs on my 1997 S130 TLRV. Normally when I clean a carb, I replace needle valve and all gaskets. However after pricing said parts on this Yamaha, I am very tempted to use the old needle valve and gaskets. I got the gaskets off of first carb undamaged and needle valves look like new, no deformity at all. If I can do the same with other carb, would it be ok to use the old gaskets? Or would I simply be wasting my time?

I have had very good luck reusing old gaskets. Yamaha makes a high quality 1, as reflected by their pricing, plus I'm cheap

Most probably re-use. I always coat both sides of gaskets with a silicone grease or compound to help it not tear up upon removal so it can be re-used....
