good news is now over a week later and both oil tanks are still full and both electric and manual chokes are working. waiting on a couple of bolts that I ordered that the Mechanic at the local boat fix it shop saw fit to not replace the last time it had carb work done.

while you have a time, check positioning of oil level gauge on engine mounted oil tank in relation of oil strainer. it is very easy and common to insert on into another and to miss orientation marks. it may cause remote oil pump send oil into air intake via vent hose. happens to me.
