  • 115 tlrq yamaha

    when in neutral rpm normal when gear engaged

    can only reach 1400-1500 rpm , further forward

    causes motor to die. have tried new cdi unit,

    have checked coils and continuity to plugs.

    have replaced diaphrams in fuel pump. have

    tried an external form of fuel. any suggestions

    what else i could try.

    Most likely a carb rebuild would work. You say it idles fine, just won't go over 1500 rpms? Do you have a service manual for it?

      Bob,
      I agree with Mike.
      If your motor was allowed to set up for at least a month w/o being run, and the storage procedure in the owner's manual was not followed, then those carbs are probably clogged up with gum/varnish.
      The carbs need to be torn down, cleaned, and a carb kit installed.
