    While looking up a Suzuki thermostat I noticed that Suzuki uses a separate bolt on housing into which the thermostat resides. If and when the thermostat causes corrosion to the housing then a $34 part can be replaced. Or maybe the housing is plastic and won't corrode. Quite a bit different from having to replace a multi-thousand dollar block.

    Different design philosophy. Yamaha can learn from Suzuki. And Suzuki can learn from Yamaha. I suspect that each are too proud to learn from the other.

    Nice.
    I suppose Yamaha may look at it that only a very small number of engines have the problem to a catastrophic degree so why bother doing anything about it...

      that is about how the 4.2L motors mount the t-stats.

        I know. Looks like Yamaha finally learned a lesson. An expensive one for many customers.
