  • 1997 yamaha d150tlrv question

Reverse quit working. Disassembled lower unit and found badly worn washer inside main clutch dog. Replaced washer and assembled. Lake test revealed still no reverse. Any ideas on this problem. Thanks in advance.

It started making ratcheting noise. Sometimes u could try to put it into reverse and it would work and later on in day u could try it and it wouldn't work . Eventually got where it wouldn't work at all.

Have you checked all the cables and linkage for proper operation?

some of the early Yamahas had non SS shift shafts that would rust and then start twisting instead of moving as they should, but I do not remember when that was phased out to only SS

Yes , to the best my knowledge everything looks to be working properly. I will definitely take a closer look at shift shaft. Thanks for the info .

is this still the twin rotating prop gearcase or a single prop gearcase?
