How often do you change your lower unit lube ?
I have been told once a year.

Depending on how much you use it, at least that often. Cheap insurance, plus it gives you an opportunity to check the oil condition.

Yep, most want to know there is no water in the lower unit when it is put away for awhile when off season shows up.

If you live in a place that you use the motor all year, it is still a good idea to check or change every year.
Need to know if it is getting contaminated somewhere down the line before the lower unit is trashed

I guess as long as the lube is clear and not milky when you pull
the bottom screw you're all good.
        I still change annually.

I use my boat year round so I change oil and gear fluid every 100 hrs.

About 10 bucks for oil. Twice a year to check for water.
