  • Yamaha 2003 F60 won't start

I have an outboard f60 that has had troubles starting for a few years now but I recently had it sit for almost a year and now I can't get it to start at all. Ive done a minor tune up (plugs, fuel filter, oil change) to it, replaced all the fuel with clean fuel. It has spark and clean fuel and I can't get it running.. Any tips on what I could do next to figure out what is wrong here?

check fuel pressures, test spark on all plugs, and compression or leak down test to make sure cylinders are sealing properly (rings & valves are doing their thing.)
if all is good with that then the carbs could be plugged up from sitting

You are going to need a service manual
and a vacuum mate to sink carbs.
Best take it to a dealer.

Perfect example of what results by not addressing a small issue...it becomes a bigger issue. Since you're dealing with an starting issue you'll need to assess components in all 3 systems...fuel, spark, compression. The large majority of engine woes are fuel related, so start there.
