most I have seen are made of anodized aluminum tubing that works well,except were it is welded or nicked the anodized coating goes away.
some powder coat the tubing after welding it all up, but any ding will have the same problem

We use this two part system to repair anodized parts. Mainly when we cannot remove the part from the aircraft to anodize it (done in tanks) or the part is to large for tanks, we can brush anodize. So yes this will work on anodized parts but the alodine 1201 is not as durable as the original anodizing. Two different processes.
