  • Flahing Oil & Temp lights while cruising, then only idle without alarm

I have a 91 130 yamaha that has been running flawlessly till my last time out. After running off and on all day, I was cruising@4000rpm when an audible alarm & oil, temp lights started flashing on gauge. I shut motor off and waited a couple minutes, the engine was not hot and when I restarted, the water peeing from cooling system was cool. I could idle with no problem but if Itried to go above 2000-2500 to plane off I would get alarm & warning lights. Although while I idle back home the motor was not running hot and no alarms. Once I got back proceeded to check oil pump which seems to be working correctly. But I am suspicious it may be the (oil) control unit kit or the oil level gauge, checked all the connections on the wiring harness between them and everything looks perfect. Thanks for any advice.....Bill

The oil tank on engine controls signals the oil alarm, if oil level reahes the lower line on tank the alarm sounds, if it is at lower line then it is a oil transfer problem
