  • 2004 Yamaha F25MLHC manual tilt broken help

    The rod that comes from the manual tilt lever disconnected or broke and I can't figure out where it goes. Anyone have one of these outboards to snap a pic of theirs? #43 on the parts schematics

      That's what it looks like but it is way too lose. The first pic shows how far it goes past it

            It is all explained in your service manual. What page are you looking at?

              my guess is that the bottom device it hooks to is stuck and not moving. should be spring loaded one direction and the linkage pulls it in the other

                So I shortened the metal rod that is loose by an inch. Not very easy due to do, being hardened steel. I know this is not the correct way but now it works. I really don't get it. I am pretty mechanically inclined. This has me confused to no end. It worked fine up until a couple weeks ago. I am missing something. I wish I could find one here locally to compare to.
